JOB SUMMARY :

MTK is currently hiring for the following position:

Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
Pay Rate: $57.00 to $61.25 per hour
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Location: Lawrence, MA 01841
Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours per Week

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) partners with residents and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality physical therapy services, with the goal of maximizing residents’ functional abilities and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform therapeutic procedures under the direction of a licensed therapist, following physician orders and established care plans.
• Implement and support individualized treatment plans, including functional goals, frequency, duration, and therapeutic modalities.
• Monitor patient progress, report status changes, and collaborate with the supervising therapist to modify care plans as needed.
• Provide hands-on care while ensuring adherence to all safety precautions, indications, and contraindications.
• Engage residents and caregivers in the care plan, providing education and documenting outcomes effectively.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with department and regulatory standards.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to coordinated patient care.
• Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and other reimbursement guidelines.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and infection-controlled clinical environment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and professional development activities.

Requirements:

• Associate Degree (required)
• Active Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required)
• Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facility (preferred)
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage time effectively and work in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Physical Demands:

• Ability to perform tasks involving standing, walking, bending, and lifting
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs (assistance required for higher weights)
